How many years have you played roller derby?

On again and off again since 2006. My longest stint was between 2011-2015 with the Savannah Derby Devils. I’ve also skated with Classic City Rollergirls in Athens, GA and the Fort Stewart Roller Girls.

Why derby? What drew you to play this sport?

I’ve always been big into rollerskating. I spent every Friday night at the rink when I was in middle school. When I was at UGA, I saw a MySpace advertisement about starting up a roller derby team and, even though at the time I had no idea what derby even was, I went to the meet up and the rest is history!

What’s your favorite position to play?

I love being a blocker, although I admit I’m the world’s okayest jammer. I really just enjoy the thrill of landing the perfectly timed hit.

What’s one random fact about you?

I’m an actual Magical Girl.
