2010 Poster Contest

Calling all Artists, Designers, and Art Lovers! The Savannah Derby Devils love great design and artwork and want to reach out to the community to include YOU in this awesome sport.  

It is with much excitement that we announce the launch of our very first Savannah Derby Devils' Poster Contest.  We want your help to continue our edgy, creative designs that promote our home games.

We are looking for your talent and vision & are very excited to see what our fans come up with!

The goal is simple: create a poster for any 2010 home event listed below.  Designs should incorporate the empowering, sexy spirit of women's roller derby as well as a theme and title for the bout. The rest is up to your imagination!

Each design should include the time, date, venue and ticket information for a specified event as well as the logos of participating leagues. One thing we ask is that you don't redesign our logo and it needs to be on every design. 

Your design should be 11"x17". Get the SDD logo here. Send all submissions to sddposter2010@gmail.com in pdf format, by February 24, 2010 at midnight.

"Fresh Meat Scrimmage"  This is when we take our new recruits from Boot Camp & introduce them to the public. We typically mix the teams evenly with vets & noobs (a rookie). This is the first chance for noobs to play a 'real' game and it’s also when they are introduced with their ‘official’ derby names & given team jerseys

"Roller Girl Boot Camp"  This is our big recruitment for the year. Interested skaters & roller derby enthusiasts skate with the team for 4 nights of fun on wheels. No made rink skills required, gear & skates are provided. All women over 18 are welcome to participate. It has been referred to as “summer camp gone wrong.” Afterwards, we hold tryouts for anyone who wants to join the team.

Nightly, June 6-11
Garden City Gym, 160 Wheat Hill Road
$20 early/ $25 registration
